Agatha Christie, quotes, Pets, interview, tribute.

Making a tribute to Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, The Queen of Crime Novels. A magnificent intelligent lady whose unique talent in writing crime stories made her internationally famous. Apparently, most ideas derived from her personal life, media news and travels. Her particular style in writing has encouraged and or addicted people world wide to read most of her books. Her mysterious disappearance for a few days in early December 1926 created a massive search, volunteers, hound dogs, even one of her favourite dogs assisted the police and investigators.

Agatha, loved reading, writing and surfing. From her personal life experiences, travels and her world of imagination, she managed to strongly captive her readers. For instance during the first and second World War, she assisted at the hospitals where she learned thorough deep knowledge of different types of poisons. Thus accurate poison details were added into her short stories, plays and novels.

Agatha, mainly self-taught in reading and writing skills strongly believed that her writing did not have any particular method and or technique, rather than imagination, from personal life background and like being part of the story. Thus as a young teenager she wrote many short stories until the age of 21 years old where her first published a novel duly released in 1920 named "The Mysterious Affair at Styles", a detective Mr Hercule Poirot was firstly introduced of which led to a famous character being included in more than 30 novels and over 30 short stories. Later years, films were later produced and eventually released in the Picture Theatres and led to additional international success.

Another famous character of which Agatha eventually introduced was Miss Marple, apparently the said character was inspired from her step grandmother and other of her close friends. An intelligent lady, extremely curious who felt that she had to get fully involved in the murder cases, would never give up in order to find out who the real murderer was. Christie firstly introduced Miss Marple in short stories in 1927, then her first novel named "Murder at the Vicarage" published in 1930. Once again, films were released and some re-produced to a further international success.

Christie, suffered immensely from her separation, later divorce from her first husband. It was one of her dogs at the time named Peter who was a major emotional support. Her love of animals, dogs in particular also inspired Christie to write a book called “Dumb witness” published in July 1937. It was dedicated to one of her favourite dog, a terrier named Peter, due to the emotional support she received during a difficult period in her life.

She eventually decided to travel to the Oriental countries. It was the combination from her train trip, the said blizzard experience near Turkey and also a real life crime of a celebrity child kidnaping that was on most of the media news, that inspired Agatha and wrote another novel "Murder on the Orient Express" published in 1934. Furthermore, during her travels to the Orient she met, fell in love and eventually married Sir Max Edgar Lucien Mallowan, an archaeologist. They both travelled often to Egypt and Agatha developed a passion for Egypt, it's culture, life style, history that led her to other novel "Death on the Nile" released in 1937.
